Men going for Cataract surgery should not take the drug Flomax within 2 weeks of their surgery date, because of severe risk of eye complications.

Flomax is the name of a drug prescribed to men who are dealing with urination issues stemming from an enlarged prostate.

The drug works by relaxing muscle tissue in the urinary tract, the same type of muscle tissue that is located around the eye

Writing in the Journal of the American Medical Association researchers from Canada detail their study.

They analyzed more than 96,128 men over the age of 66, all of whom had undergone cataract surgery.

Men who took Flomax before their surgery were found to be more than 2 times more likely to have a complication from their eye surgery.
