Illinois - An investigation by the FBI has revealed that a Chicago man named John Robert Barnes is not the missing toddler who went missing from his mother’s stroller more than 50 years ago.
The man had come forward, claiming that he could actually be Stephen Damman, a 2 year old taken in Long Island, but DNA tests have proved him not to be the missing child.
Barnes insisted that growing up, things just did not feel right, and thought that that could be because he was not who he thought he was.
Pictures of him as a child do indeed resemble the missing youngster, a fact that further strengthened his belief that he actually was Damman.
“It’s too bad we had to go through all of this for actually nothing in the end,” said Stephen’s father, Jerry Damman.
When Stephen went missing a massive man hunt was initiated but the little boy simply vanished without a trace.

Washington - Bayer Healthcare maybe facing a law suit from an advocacy group who claim that the company is falsely advertising their 1-a-day vitamin for men.
According to Bayer Healthcare, their vitamins can help a man reduce his risk of prostate cancer, a fact that the Center for Science in the Public Interest disputes.
The company have poured a lot of money into marketing their vitamins for men, including spots on radio and television.
The vitamins contain selenium which is the ingredient that Bayer is claiming reduces risk of prostate cancer.
The group points out that a study funded by the National Institutes of Health last year proved that selenium faired no better than a placebo at reducing prostate cancer risk.
“The largest prostate cancer prevention trial has found that selenium is no more effective than a placebo,” said David Schardt, the group’s senior nutritionist. “Bayer is ripping people off when it suggests otherwise in these dishonest ads.”
“We stand behind all claims made in support of our products,” said Bayer spokeswoman Trisch McKernan.
She added that the FDA approved the vitamins, knowing how they were planning to advertise them.

Boston (SmartAboutHealth) - It is being reported that scientists have managed to develop a method of reducing one way that people can get lung cancer.
They were able to do this by figuring out a way of blocking nanoparticles from entering into a person’s lungs, thus reducing their overall risk of developing the deadly form of cancer.
The little particles, microscopic in size have been shown to have cancer causing effects, thus by being able to block them from entering the lungs, the risk of lung cancer developing is greatly reduced.
Writing in the Journal of Molecular Cell Biology. Journal of Molecular Cell Biology the scientists explain how they were able to figure out their discovery.
Working with mice, the scientists explain how they injected them with a type of autophagy inhibitor and then exposed them to the toxic particles which had no effect on the lungs of the test rodents.
“This provides us with a promising lead for developing strategies to prevent lung damage caused by nanoparticles,” said the leader of the team, Chengyu Jiang, a molecular biologist at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Beijing.
