Boston (SmartAboutHealth) - There has been a recall announced this week in regards to hazelnuts, due to a potential salmonella contamination.
The recall was announced by Whole Foods Market, as they have recalled all bulk organic raw hazelnuts.
The hazelnuts were said to be sold in their stores in the states Utah, Washington, California, New Mexico, Colorado, and Kansas.
The company has offered customers a full refund if they have purchased any of the products since October 12, 2009.
Customers in Oregon and Washington should watch out for the non-organic raw hazelnuts.
Customers in other states should check to see if they have non-organic dry roasted hazelnuts.
The company stated that there was a discovery of the potential salmonella contamination during testing done at one of their plants.
Those who are most vulnerable to the contamination include young children and the elderly.
