Boston (SmartAboutHealth) - The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has laid out plans to build two brand new hospitals near downtown New Orleans.
This is part of a push to try and improve the health care system in the city of New Orleans, and to bring in more jobs as well.
This is a continued effort into the re-development of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.
Mayor Ray Nagin called the plan a huge accomplishment.
The VA is going to work with the state as well as Louisiana State University on the hospitals.
