It was just last week when it was reported that melamine was found in samples of infant formula in the U.S.

The FDA has been working to test 87 samples and found trace amounts of melamine in certain formulas.

They did not say, however, what a safe level was right away as they were unsure.

The FDA has clarified though as they have stated that amounts of the chemical that are below 1.0 ppm pose no health risk.

Some of the samples that tested positve for trace amounts of the chemical were Nestle’s Good Star Supreme Infant Formula, and Enfamil from Mead Johnson.

There are other results still pending, but all findings to this point pose no health risk.
