...Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - President-elect Barack Obama tipped his hat this week to President George W. Bush, applauding him for his work in Africa against AIDS.

President-elect Barack Obama made his voic heard on the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day, which started in 1988 by the World Health Organization.

Obama released a video recording which was showcased and revealed that he was happy to see the work put in by President George W. Bush.

Bush put in place the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief or PEPFAR in 2003 to fight AIDS in Africa and abroad.

The program has been well-funded and has been a huge success story for the administration.

Obama vowed to keep up the fight against AIDS and stated in his video recording that “I salute President Bush for his leadership in crafting a plan for AIDS relief in Africa and backing it up with funding dedicated to saving lives and preventing the spread of the disease.”
