Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - President-elect Barack Obama seemingly has the tools in place to try and fix health care in the new year 2009.
President-elect Barack Obama has been working with his transition team to make an impact with health care reform once he takes over for President George W. Bush this month.
There are big health care problems in the U.S. with 47 million Americans without health insurance.
That number could continue to rise if nothing is done as health insurance premiums increase year after year.
Obama is going to be working with the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services Tom Daschle, whom he appointed, to try and fix health care in the U.S.
The goal is to not fix it for the short-term, but to put a new health care system in place that will work for the year 2009 and the years to come in the future.
