The CDC's National Center for Health Statistics has revealed that New Hampshire has the lowest teen birth rate in the entire U.S..<br />
....Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - The CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics has revealed that New Hampshire has the lowest teen birth rate in the entire U.S.

In the year 2006, 26 of the 50 states in the U.S. saw an increase in the number of teen pregnancies.

The birth rate for teens overall in the U.S. increased from 40.5 births per 1,000 women aged 15 to 19 in 2005 to 41.9 in 2006.

The Northeast did the best as New Hampshire had the lowest rate at 18.7 teens per 1,000.

The South and Southwestern parts of the U.S. did the worst with Mississippi having the highest rate at at 68.4 births per 1,000 women.

They were just ahead of New Mexico at 64.1 and Texas at 63.1.

Other states with very low birth rates included Massachusetts at 21.3 as well as Vermont.

This was the first increase overall in teen birth rates in the U.S. since 1991.
