Boston (SmartAboutHealth) - A new study finds that restaurant chains such as Red Lobster and Arby’s are serving meals packed with a lot of salt.

The study was conducted by researchers from the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

Too much salt in a person’s diet is very bad for you, and can significantly raise a person’s risk of serious health problems including high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and even death.

This study focused on restaurants in America, because millions of Americans eat out on a regular basis.

It is the overall tendancy to eat foods that you would not normally make at home when going out to a restaurant, because many people feel that eating at a restaurant is a treat worth taking full advantage of.

In some cases eating a meal at a restaurant, can provide you with 4 times the daily recommended serving of sodium, depending of course on what you get.

Salt is used in the cooking of food to add flavor, and millions of us, me included needed it to make our food taste better, even if there is nothing wrong with the actual food.

Fast food restaurants such as Burger King, were found to be one of the worst when it came to salty foods, due to the large amount of processed food product that is used in the making of food.
