..........Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - According to a new study published in the journal Science, hydrogen sulfide, known for its rotten egg smell, actually regulates blood pressure.

The study was carried out by researchers from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and focused on the impact of hydrogen sulfide on blood pressure.

The smell from hydrogen sulfide comes out of the human colon, through flatuation.

This has been found to act as a relaxing factor and helps regulate blood pressure.

The study was conducted on mice, with half of the mice being able to produce the hydrogen sulfide and the other half not.

The mice that were able to produce hydrogen sulfide were able to control their blood pressure more effectively.
