.Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - U.S. researchers have come out and stated that neither vitamin E supplements, or selenium reduce the risk of developing prostate cancer.
Dr. Eric Klein of the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio led the team of researchers by focusing on a total of 35,000 men.
The study, which was heavily supported by the National Cancer Institute, found that neither.selenium or vitamin E supplements prevented the risk of developing prostate cancer.
The supplements were not effective whether they were given as a combination or on their own.
This kills past myths that believed these could actually prevent prostate cancer.
Researchers are urging people to no longer take these supplements, as they found men who took vitamin E were more likely to get prostate cancer.
Men who took selenium were more likely to get diatebes overall.
