Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - Researchers have found a link between depression, and heart disease patients who do not get enough exercise regularly.
Researchers from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in San Francisco.carried out the study on 1,017 heart disease patients.
They found that there were many heart disease patients who lacked regular exercise, and ended up suffering from depression.
Depression can be deadly for heart disease patients, causing heart attacks, strokes, etc.
Those heart disease patients who were depressed had a one-third higher risk of heart attack, stroke, and/or other cardiac event.
Researchers found though that those who exercised regularly reduced their risk of depression significantly.
The study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
