Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - Today marks the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day, a day to try and raise awareness to battle the HIV/AIDS epidemic. When it is all said and done though, what can you do to help out?
Every December 1st, World AIDS Day is held and has been held ever since it was started by the other World Health Organization (WHO) back in 1988.
The goal of the day is to try and unite the world to raise awareness and fight the HIV/AIDS virus.
On top of awareness, prevention methods and education are also preached around the world.
Those who suffer from HIV/AIDS need the support education, and this is a day where the world can reach out to them.
The historic day is now recognized by more than 190 countries around the world.
So on this day, do your part and raise awareness of HIV/AIDS to the masses.
