Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - The same children’s health care bill that President George W. Bush vetoed twice is expected to be passed by Barack Obama.
The SCHIP expansion bill comes with a $33 billion price tag, but will provide health insurance to another 4 million children in the U.S.
This care would be provided under the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
President George W. Bush vetoed the bill because he did not want to see an increase in certain taxes, including tobacco taxes.
This will help poverty-stricken children get health insurance amd the care they need.
Once the House and Senate pass the bill, Obama is likely to sign it.
