The annual report, Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance 2007 was released and revealed a major increase in STD cases once again in the U.S.

From 2006 to 2007, there was an increase from 1 million cases of chlamydia to 1.1 million cases.

On top of that, the number of cases of gonorrhea also increased to 350,000 extra cases in 2007.

The other major spike was seen in syphilis, which increased for the seventh year-in-a-row.

This shows that STDs continue to become far more common in the U.S., and that practices being used as of right now are simply not being effective.

The main focus in regards to the rise in STDs in the U.S. seems to be young people under the age of 25.

It is being urged by doctors that young men and women under 25 should go and get checked annually for STDs.

This will help protect themselves as well as others to reduce the number of cases, as well as illnesses that go along with them.

Improved sex education practices are also being urged to help reduce the number of cases.
