The health secretary Alan Johnson is leading the push to try and improve dementia treatment in the UK.

There are over 560,000 people who live in England with dementia.

One major problem though is that only around 220,000 of them are registered as having been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia.

This new initiative being launched in the UK is being led with the premise that if patients are treated early enough, they can vastly slow the progression of the disease.

This will start out with the training of every GP to pick out early signs of dementia.

They will also open memory clinics in every city to help diagnose more people.

These memory clinics will make drugs, treatments, and other therapies available.
