Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - A company has announced a major beef recall in the United States due to E. coli, resulting in six states being impacted.
The recall was announced by the National Steak and Poultry company based in Owasso, Oklahoma.
The recall impacts states including Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, South Dakota, Washington, and Michigan.
The announcement came over the weekend by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as they confirmed that 248,000 pounds of beef products were recalled in total.
The types of beef included in the recall consisted of beef shoulder, tender medallions, philly steak, sirlion steak, boneless beef tips, sirlion tips, and others.
All of the recalled beef had packages labeled with EST. 06010T and were all labeled National Steak and Poultry.
An investigation is ongoing into the E. coli contamination.
