Boston (SmartAboutHealth) - A new study has revealed that nerve stimulation will not help those who suffer from chronic lower back pain.
Low back pain is something that impacts millions of Americans, with treatments being far and few between.
A new study aimed to test and see if a new method known as TENS would be able to help.
The method is called transutaneous electric nerve stimulation, and sends electrodes through your back.
These electrodes are created by a small generator that transmits these electrical signals.
The American Academy of Neurology tested out TENS on low back pain, and has stated that it is ineffective.
This is not the first study to turn up these results, as this confirms previous studies showing the same thing.
The study has been published in the journal Neurology.
