Researchers from Israel carried out the study on a total of roughly 1,500 smokers who had all suffered a heart attack and survived.

They then followed those who were able to either quit smoking or cut back on cigarette smoking following the heart attack to see what impact it had on their lives.

What researchers found was that those who quit smoking after their first-time having a heart attack were less likely to die during the study.

Quitting smoking was said to reduce their risk of death by 37%.

This shows that quitting smoking can help reduce your risk of death following a heart attack at a rate that is far higher than even using common medications.

What we learn from this is that it is truly never too late to quit smoking.
