Boston (SmartAboutHealth) - The Relay for Life events put on by the American Cancer Society march on this year and are being touted as a huge success. This weekend proved their resolve as many had to fight through severe weather to hold their events.
The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life events are held each and ever year to help raise money and awareness in the fight against cancer.
This weekend was no different as some fantastic events were held all across the United States.
There were quite a few events this weekend that were unfortunately met with some bad weather, but that didn’t slow them down a bit.
A perfect example of this was a Relay for Life event held in Michigan, which was met with severe storms, but still managed to raise over $85,000, unbelievable.
Hundreds come out each weekend to take part in these events as the 24-hour events are beacons to show community support in the fight against cancer.
The funding goes toward the treatments of patients with cancer, as well as research to help come up with cures for cancer.
Be sure to check out updates on the web site, www.RelayforLife.org to see when events are being held in your area!
