The FDA has listened to the advice of its panel and has decided to give the green light to Allergan to sell their glaucoma drug Lumigan as a cosmetic product under the brand name Latisse.

Latisse is the brand name of the drug that will be used to treat the condition known as hypotrichosis, which occurs in people who cannot grow eyelashes.

This drug is going to allow people with this condition to grow longer, thicker and darker eyelashes.

It is believed at this point that Allergan will have the drug ready for release by Q1 2009, with sales expected to skyrocket once it launches.
