Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - New Jersey has made history, as the state has approved and legalized marijuana for medical purposes.
The two houses of New Jersey approved medical marijuana on Monday, with the voting overwhelmingly in favor of the move.
The Senate voted 25-13 in favor of medical marijuana being made legal, while the Assembly voted 48-14 in favor of it.
The expectation is that New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, who will leave office January 19th, will make it a priority to sign this bill into law before he departs.
This is history making, as New Jersey is now the 14th state to legalize the use of medical marijuana.
This is a very strict law that will make it very difficult to acquire marijuana for use beyond medical purposes.
The key here is that now that this law has passed, those who are truly suffering can enjoy the many benefits of the drug.
