bpa_plastic_bottlesWashington (SmartAboutHealth) - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has come out and stated that they are going to do more research to look into the dangers that surround the chemical bisphenol-A that is used in plastic baby bottles and other packaging.

There have been a great many studies in regards to the health risks that surround this chemical, and they have been well-documented.

To date though, health agencies such as the FDA have not paid that much attention to these studies, ignoring them for the most part.

That is all changing though as bisphenol-A or BPA is going to be put under the microscope to see what health risks are actually present.

When major studies came out last spring, the FDA stated that BPA was present in only trace amounts that could not harm a baby or any other person.

They are now singing a different tune though as they will look into the existence of this chemical, and what it can cause.

Studies have shown that it can harm the brain development of babies, as well as the human reproductive system.
