Utah - It is being reported that BYU basketball coach Dave Rose has been diagnosed with cancer.

The coach has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, one of the more aggressive forms of the disease.

The cancer was only found when Rose underwent surgery to stop internal bleeding, and further tests confirmed the diagnosis.

Doctors are currently working with Rose to figure out the best form of treatment for him.

He will be taking time away from the team while he is being treated, and his coaching staff wil oversee daily basketball operations at the university.

In 4 years under Rose, the BYU mens basketball team has a record of 97-34.
