(Boston) - With Father’s Day just around the corner why not remind your dad to go for a prostate exam.
Prostate cancer is one of those cancers that men become prone to as they age, and is a tricky form of the disease because there are few symptoms in the early stages.
Men over the age of 50 are recommended to be tested for the disease each year, but very few do, a fact that puts them at risk of being diagnosed with the disease later than earlier in the cancer process.
The earlier one is diagnosed with the disease, the better their prognosis, thus men are urged to go for screenings once they enter into the appropriate age demographic.
Professionals will be doing their part to get the word out about prostate cancer.
On Sunday, all Major League Baseball umpires will be wearing blue wrist bands to signify prostate cancer awareness.
