Nestle Recalls Cookie Dough After 66 Cases of E. Coli Are Reported

Nestle Foods have recalled a type of cookie dough because it is contaminated with E. coli bacteria.
The FDA have received more than 66 reports of people falling sick after eating raw cookie dough from the company, and a furter investigation resulted in the E. coli finding.
The product being recalled is called Toll House Cookie Dough and needs to be refrigerated, but is sometimes eaten raw by consumers because it is so yummy.
On the label of packets of Nestle cookie dough it says not to eat raw, but the company agrees that doing so, is not harmful.
In total cases of E. coli have been reported in 28 states, with no slow down in site.
“Consumers who have purchased these products should not consume them,” the Nestle statement said. “Instead, we are asking that consumers return these products to their local grocer for a full refund.”
